To be honest I'm not sure "wha...Hi Heidi! To be honest I'm not sure "what" the lactate peaks mean for us right now other than it is a sign of mito. Our doctor (neuro) wasn't too specific regarding that finding in particular other than agreeing it pointed to mito. Her 2nd MRI was "worse" so he focused more on talking about that. (really so far her symptoms are neurological and now more recently eye related)

Since Samantha is not diagnosed officially yet we are just treating it as another "sign" pointing to mito. It was her first MRS--so we have no comparison. I have done some extensive reading however, (the internet sleuth that I am), and it seems that in general for mito kids at times the peaks may come and go depending on the "stressors" present. So, it may be something that "comes and goes" but of course further testing would prove/disprove that for any particular kid. As usual, clear as mud right?

Prior to seeing this message I just joined your "blog" and as I stated there--it's AMAZING!!! You are quite talented and your kids are so amazing. Keep up the good blogging! Looking forward to following the sweet little Jack!

And if you are ever in our area--you are welcome to do a photo shoot with Sam!!!

Take Care and hugs to you all,

MonicaMonicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02509440686368691649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3341201475686174354.post-14450394734253757672010-08-19T03:19:00.522-07:002010-08-19T03:19:00.522-07:00Hi monica, LOVED the video--despite she not being ...Hi monica, LOVED the video--despite she not being mine! Youre too funny, she is worth every minute to watch! She is beautiful, love her little giggles too :)

Nice to see your blog link on p2p. I havent been there much lately but trying to keep up with all Jacks little mito friends. Seeing Sam walk reminded much like Jack at that age, he didnt take his first steps until he was nearly 2.5 years old.

I was reading your blog posts and read about the MRS results. Can I ask you what you were told about the lactate peaks found? Jacks last MRS showed the same, obviously worrying me. I suppose a sign of progression but theres no way of knowing I guess without another one showing more--or does it mean they are always present or do they come and go? Who knows, I try not to let it bother me but thats what us mommys do!

Im glad Im able to follow your amazing little girl now, hugs to her tonight & you too--
Heidi & Jack
{Life with Jack}Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02241152139861621622noreply@blogger.com
